Oh my goodness, this is fabulous! I am so impressed. THIS would make a great setting for stories/ tv shows (soaps + zombies = too cool). I want to know what happens next for all these people. I think your idea has merit – functional, uses available resources, saves humanity. Now if everybody will just play nice and get along for the foreseeable future… Anyway, you have my vote.
